Meal Plan Monday Post

I think I'm not alone when I say ... whew, where did December come from?! With a late Thanksgiving and traveling to Chicago I was a bit behind with holiday decorating. I didn't take down my fall mantle until Tuesday the 2nd! And just yesterday I put the finishing touches on Christmas decor.

On Monday night we took our annual "Pick out Christmas tree" date. TROSA, a local non-profit organization that aids in the rehabilition of substance abuse users in the area, sets up local tree lots and there is one conveniently at Southpoint. This is the 5th year we've gotten our tree there and there's certainly a reason for that! The service is outstanding (the tree is trimmed, put in your stand, and loaded on your car) and they are a great organization to support. If you live around here we highly recommend checking out the TROSA tree lots for your tree! More information about their organization and locations of their tree lots can be found at their website.

Meal Plan for Monday December 1 - Sunday December 7

Monday - Christmas tree date night!
Dinner at Tomato Jake's then over to the TROSA tree lot

Tuesday - Pasta with shrimp, butternut squash sauce
Wednesday - Slow cooker beef stroganoff
Thursday - Stuffed chicken breasts with basil pesto and mascarpone, roasted beets
Friday - Slow cooker honey pork with apples, sweet potatoes, couscous
impromptu Hunger Games Mockingjay Part I viewing

Saturday - breakfast Ciabatta pumpkin spice french toast
dinner Moe's Southwest Grill - out running errands and picked up toys for a Toys for Tots donation
Sunday - breakfast Eggs and avocado on toast
      dinner Zuppa Toscana inspired soup

And in case you were wondering Nacho only climbed up the Christmas tree four times on the night we brought it in. Surprisingly Dupree remained grounded (typically Dupree is the more adventurous bad kitty). There has been no tree climbing since it was decorated. They prefer naps like so...

  1. The cats are so sweet. We would do TROSA if we lived there but we have been busy stringing lights on our pre-lit tree that the lights have gone out on! It looks pretty now if I do say so but Jimmy did most of the work.
