Fall's here - afternoon snack

Fall's here! Yesterday afternoon Patrick blew off the fallen leaves from the deck and front stoop. There was a definite chill in the air and he proclaimed "it's most definitely fall!" It seems that summer and hotter than usual weather hung around for a while and then proceeded to have a two week rainy season. I'm looking forward to fall and finally embracing all things pumpkin. It's just too hard to order pumpkin spice lattes when there's a high of 80 degrees!

This week has been a little crazy for us. We're adjusting from our vacation and getting everything reset all while preparing ourselves for a local wedding and guests coming from out of town to stay with us. On Wednesday I did five loads of laundry! Yesterday I ran all the errands I needed to - grocery, pharmacy, dry cleaning, and a few other things. While I've been getting things in control at home Patrick has been doing that at work too. He has quite a bit of catch up on his plate.

Even though we have a meal plan and might seem organized for dinner every night, sometimes I'm far from having dinner coming out of the oven when Patrick walks in the door! Since I was running errands all day yesterday I didn't have time to get to my cleaning the house chores so when Patrick got home we took a brief sit down on the back deck with a snack. Then Patrick logged into work and I cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed.

We enjoyed relaxing in our rocking chairs (anniversary gift to ourselves) with a fruit, cheese, and nuts assortment.

Pear, Trader Joe's Italian truffle cheese, Trail mix with almonds, walnuts, and dried blueberries
We then had a late dinner - a vegetarian pasta dish with arugula and wax beans. Look for it on Meal Plan Monday and a future post. Then we tuned into Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder.

Happy Friday!
